Welcome
My name is Vitor Bueno, and I am the owner of Canter, an investment holding company acquiring SMBs in the home services and adjacent markets.
During my career, I have managed and grown a leading furniture retailer, led a heavy-highway construction company, and co-founded a multi-faceted real estate development business. I have successfully led businesses with revenues of up to $45 million and teams of over 180 people, and been involved in multiple turnarounds.


About
I was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, where I spent most of my youth. At the age of 16, I had the opportunity to study and live for one year in Louisville, KY, and I grow close with my host family and many others in the community. After spending the next decade in Brazil and working as a fixed income trader for the largest bank in Latin America, my wife and I decided in 2011 to immigrate from Brazil to Kentucky to pursue an entrepreneurial career.
Early in my career, I had the opportunity to be named the CEO of a Top 100 furniture retailer, where I improved the business by changing the culture and cost structure, which resulted in profitability increasing threefold in just over two years. Since then, I have owned and managed businesses in the Midwest including public infrastructure construction and real estate development businesses. I have successfully managed many different types of workers from commissioned salespeople to construction laborers.
I have been fortunate to live with two mentors with distinct backgrounds that have been a source of support and inspiration during my professional life.
I enjoy the challenges and rewards of being the CEO of a medium-sized business. In 2022, I earned a graduate business degree at MIT (Sloan School of Management), and decided to relocate to Denver, CO where I founded Canter.
Outside of work, I have always loved adventure and challenging myself. At 19, I hiked for fifteen days through the Brazilian Amazon and climbed the highest peak in Brazil. I also enjoy skiing, fly fishing and mountain bike. My wife, Cristina, and I have raised our two daughters to share our core values of welcoming challenges and new experiences.


Approach
I am searching for businesses focused in home services with approximately $3 – $10 million in annual sales or $2 – $5 million in annual recurring revenue that is both growing and profitable. I have been focused on businesses with recurring revenue, growth potential, and fun culture.
